Steamed Basmati Rice

Simple steamed rice that is a perfect accompaniment to all curries and lentils.


Basmati Rice 1 cup
Water 4 cups
Salt To taste
Oil 1 tsp.

Preparation Method

Wash rice several times until water is not cloudy and soak in sufficient water for half hour.

Drain rice and transfer to another bowl. Now boil a large pan of water and add rice along with some salt and oil.

Stir well and boil until rice is cooked. Drain the water and serve rice.
